The Local's Guide to Eating & Drinking in Centennial Hills, Las Vegas

by Stephanie Officer

One of the questions I get most from clients relocating to Centennial Hills is some version of: "But is there actually good food out there?"

The answer is yes — and it keeps getting better.

I've lived in Centennial Hills for over 17 years, and the restaurant scene has transformed dramatically. We've gone from a handful of chain options to a genuinely exciting mix of local favorites, new concepts, and longtime institutions that people drive across the valley for. This isn't a tourist guide. This is what I actually eat, and what I tell every client, friend, and neighbor who asks.

Here's my personal breakdown by category.

☕ Coffee

Aware Coffee & Tea Lounge

📍 5590 Painted Mirage Rd, Suite 130 | 89149

This is my go-to, full stop. Aware isn't just the best coffee in Centennial Hills — it's the best coffee I've had in the area, period. They use organic espressos and make their syrups and purees in-house from fresh ingredients, which you can actually taste in every cup.

What I love most about it beyond the coffee is that it's a local business. Not a nationwide chain. Not a drive-through franchise. It's a neighborhood coffee shop with real energy — cozy indoor seating, outdoor tables, a laptop-friendly vibe, and the kind of place where you run into people you know. It's always busy, and for good reason. If you're new to Centennial Hills, start your mornings here. You'll thank me.

🍔 Burgers & Casual Dining

With Love, Always

📍 6441 N Durango Dr, Suite 140 | 89149

This one started as a parking lot pop-up in 2021 — a labor of love from a team that was obsessed with doing smash burgers the right way. Now it has a permanent home right here in Centennial Hills, and it's already been named one of the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Top 100 Restaurants. That's not hype. That's earned.

The double smash patties have those crispy, lacy edges that come from a proper smash technique, finished with their signature Love sauce and shoestring fries that are genuinely addictive. The space itself is vibrant and nostalgic — walls covered in Las Vegas history, an open kitchen with "A Love Letter to Las Vegas" above it. It feels like it belongs here, and it does. Go hungry.

Big Dog's

A Centennial Hills classic that's been a staple of the northwest for years. Casual, welcoming, great for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The kind of place that feels like home after just a couple of visits. If you're new to the area and want somewhere instantly comfortable, this is it.

In-N-Out Burger

Some things are a staple for a reason. Look, I know In-N-Out doesn't need an introduction — but no local food guide in this part of Las Vegas would be complete without it. It's consistent, it's fresh, and there's a reason the lines don't stop. When the craving hits, it hits. Animal style. You know what to do.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

📍 Centennial Centre

BJ's is a solid go-to for a casual sit-down meal — great for groups, good for a date night, easy for families. Their lineup of craft beers brewed in-house pairs well with the comfort food menu. Think deep dish pizzas, burgers, ribs, and a pizookie for dessert if you know what's good for you. It's reliable in the best way.

🥩 Steakhouse & Fine Dining

Bob Taylor's Original Ranch House

📍 Rio Vista Street

This is a Las Vegas institution — the oldest steakhouse in the city, open since 1955. When people ask me about a truly iconic Centennial Hills-area dinner spot, this is always the answer. Mesquite-grilled steaks, slow-smoked prime rib, and a rustic Western atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. It's not trendy. It doesn't need to be. It's the real deal, and it's right here in our backyard. Worth every bite.

🌮 Mexican & Breakfast Burritos

Habaneros

When I need a breakfast burrito — and sometimes you just need a breakfast burrito — Habaneros is where I go. Big, filling, loaded, and exactly what you want when you're heading out for a hike or a busy Saturday. The portions are generous, the service is fast, and it hits the spot every time. A northwest Las Vegas breakfast staple.

🍱 Sushi & Poke Bowls

Sweet Poke

For sushi bowls, Sweet Poke is my pick. Huge portions, and incredibly fresh ingredients. You can go with one of their pre-built recipes or completely customize your own — and either way you're leaving full and happy. Great for a quick lunch or a healthy weeknight dinner. Don't sleep on the three-protein bowl if you're hungry.

🍜 Thai Food

Nittaya's Little Kitchen

📍 7575 Norman Rockwell Lane, Suite 140 | 89143

Chef Nittaya is a Las Vegas culinary legend with four restaurants across the valley, and her Centennial Hills location — Nittaya's Little Kitchen — is the most intimate of them all. Cozy indoor seating, a cute patio, a bar, and the same level of care and quality she's built her reputation on.

The menu is Thai tapas-style, served in a boutique atmosphere that makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like dining at a friend's home who happens to be an incredible chef. The Crying Baby Tiger and the spinach salad are favorites for regulars. If you haven't been, this one is non-negotiable.

🍦 Ice Cream & Dessert

Sorry Not Sorry Creamery

📍 7170 N Durango Dr, Suite 130 | 89149

Centennial Hills finally has its own location of what many call the best ice cream in Las Vegas — and the community showed up for it. Lines out the door since day one. Sorry Not Sorry uses hormone- and antibiotic-free milk, makes small-batch ice cream, and rotates seasonal flavors alongside classics like honey lavender, campfire s'mores, and whiskey bananas Foster.

What sets them apart beyond the quality is the care — they ask about allergies the moment you walk in, change gloves, wash hands, and scoop from the back. It's a level of attention that's rare. The coffee & donuts flavor literally tastes like coffee and donuts. Get a flight if you can't decide. You won't regret it.

🍺 Craft Beer & Taproom

Able Baker Bomb Shelter

📍 6371 Centennial Center Blvd | 89149

This one just opened in May 2026 and it's already exactly what Centennial Hills needed. Able Baker is a beloved downtown Las Vegas brewery — atomic age-themed, named after the codenames of the first two atomic blasts at the Nevada Test Site — and they chose Centennial Hills for their second location for a reason: "It's an area that's pretty underserved for our industry," their marketing director put it plainly.

The Bomb Shelter taproom is bigger and more ambitious than the original downtown location — 26 taps, a full kitchen with food influenced by their Arts District Kitchen, a sprawling outdoor patio, and that signature cool-weird Able Baker energy. Their flagship Atomic Duck IPA is on tap, obviously. If you've been driving downtown for good craft beer, those days are over.

🥞 Breakfast & Brunch

Baby Stacks

If you haven't been to Baby Stacks for breakfast, move it to the top of your list immediately. Creative pancake combinations, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere that makes weekend mornings feel like an event. It's the kind of breakfast spot that becomes a ritual once you go the first time.

The Cracked Egg

📍 5570 Painted Mirage Rd, Suite 140 | 89149 — also 7660 W Cheyenne Ave | 89129

A locally owned Las Vegas breakfast institution since 2002, and one of the best reasons to wake up on a weekend in Centennial Hills. The Cracked Egg has two locations right in the neighborhood, and both are exactly what a great breakfast spot should be — friendly staff, generous portions, and a menu that gives you real decisions to make. Scrambles, skillets, omelettes, Benedicts, pancakes, stuffed French toast — it's all here and all made fresh. Their homemade coffee cake is legendary (get it, don't think about it), and the raspberry crème-filled French toast is worth a special trip on its own. It's consistently packed on weekends, and for good reason. A true Centennial Hills staple.

The Bottom Line

Centennial Hills doesn't have the glitzy Strip restaurant scene — and that's exactly the point. What we have instead is a growing collection of genuinely good, community-driven spots that feel like they belong here. Local owners, thoughtful concepts, and food worth driving for.

Whether you're already a resident or you're considering making the move, the food scene out here is one more reason Centennial Hills is the best-kept secret in Las Vegas.

Have a favorite spot I missed? I'd love to hear it.
